Zentangle® grow

I am trying to figure out how to name my tangle art pics.  I noticed that I use a similar theme in each one. It appears that I really like butterflies and birdhouses - and words!  So while I am learning how to improve my drawing and shading of those elements, I wanted to play more with my tangles.  I was determined to learn many new tangles (I count 23!) and try to repeat as little as possible.

I was also determined to use my new Copic Doodle sets.  So every element is either done in a colored marker or shaded in with a colored marker or Stabilo chalk pencil.  Sort of a fun way to approach the tangle art.  The background is still a little choppy, I may actually try watercolor next.

What a fun learning experience.  Maybe I need to reinvent my birdhouses and make them a little more interesting, this time I was trying to use my new tangles. But then my butterfly fell sort of flat since I did not put any neat tangles on her.  Oh well.  More ideas for next time.  One thing I did like was the use of black and white tangle shapes in the many colored garden!  Keep creating :o)

  1. You could probably do birdhouses, flowers and butterflies forever and each one would be beautiful. What's important is that you are having fun. I'm not sure you really need a name for each piece. You could let your grandkids name them for you :) Nice work, Grace. Yes, do try watercolor next.
