Sketchbook to Shoes

I have been practicing my "old" tangles in my sketchbook and adding new ones. I clearly need more practice!  I have been trying to add fillers to my tool kit and some others that help flow from one large piece to another.  I want to continue using some basic art to be my focal points, and then add lots of tangle, doodle, and dangle enhancements.  

I realize many of these are sort of dark.  We are at that hibernation time in Phoenix when the temps are in the higher triple digits (yesterday 111 deg. ) and so the curtains are drawn and the lights are low, all in an effort to not owe our souls to the power company.  But I tired to shine a light on my sketchbook to show some of my basic art, in this case the flowers, and then the fillers and dangles.  

then I added a little more art, flowers AND shoes.... better!  And then grabbed my Stabilo chalk pencils and made my dream of red shoes come true.  These little lap art pieces are really no bigger than about 6 x 7-1/2 inches as I cut my bristol board down and sketch at night on my lap. So now I see more areas that need improvement and really love those Stabilo pencils!!
